Three things we love about this carport

Centenary Caport

Stuck on design details for your new carport?

Well prepare to be inspired. Here are three things we love about this carport project…

To protect & serve

Just because you’re building a freestanding carport, there are still a few clever techniques to maximise the protection of your vehicle. Through this carport project, the team at For Life Patios has shown us how to maximise the protection of your vehicle through smart placement. We love how the team has used incorporated a roller door to provide an additional level of security. Placing the carport against the existing fence is also clever as it forms an enclosing wall.

Simplicity & light

Maximising natural light exposure is important in many different projects. As this carport sits quite tight on the corner of the property, the owners made several smart design choices to allow more sunlight to filter through. The choice of a Gable End structure allowed for the placement of a clear acrylic infill, flooding the interior with additional sunlight. Additionally, a clearance between the top of the fence and the roof prevents the space from feeling closed off and boxy.

At one with the environment

Regardless of whether a carport sits to the front or rear of your home, it’s important to make it look as integrated and blended as possible. We love the muted and soft COLORBOND steel colour choices that also match the adjacent shed. The owners have also brought some eco-thinking into the mix by installing a tank collecting excess rainwater directly from the carport’s roof gutters. The entire space is lifted by some lovely landscaping that helps it further integrate into the space.
