Originally trading as R.W. Fielder (Richard William Fielder), the first record of ‘Fielders’ can be traced to an ad in the Advertiser, placed by Richard on 25 August 1899: ‘Ironworker wanted: bench hand preferred. R.W. Fielder, Henley Beach’.
Later named R.W. Fielder and Son, the company became famous for manufacturing nails and as one of the first to roll-form corrugated and V crimp sheeting.
