ShedSafe® Accreditation for Your Garden Shed

When you’re choosing a new garden shed or storage shed, there’s plenty to think about — size, shape, colour, and purpose. But one important detail that often gets overlooked is ShedSafe® accreditation.

What Is ShedSafe® Accreditation?

ShedSafe® is a third-party accreditation program administered by the Australian Steel Institute (ASI). It reviews and audits a manufacturer’s engineering calculations and documentation to confirm they meet the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.

Think of it like a design-assurance badge. It tells you that the shed plans have been professionally engineered and independently audited before a single piece of steel is rolled, cut or bolted together.

Engineered for Aussie Weather

From tropical cyclones in the north to coastal salt spray, inland dust storms and dry remote areas, Australia dishes out some of the toughest weather conditions. If your shed’s going to survive the long haul, it needs to be ready for your postcode’s unique climate and terrain.

A ShedSafe®-accredited design accounts for:

  • Wind speed and direction based on your address
  • Terrain and shielding (open paddock vs. built-up suburb)
  • Topography if your block is on a hill or escarpment.

This level of planning means your outdoor shed becomes a reliable storage solution that’s truly fit for your environment.

Proven Materials to Match the Design

The Fielders Endurance® shed range is ShedSafe®-accredited and manufactured from BlueScope steel, including COLORBOND® cladding and GALVASPAN® structural members.

By pairing these trusted materials with a ShedSafe®-certified design, you’re choosing a shed built to handle Australia’s conditions. It stays weather resistant and secure, keeps your garden equipment and tools dry, and adds dependable, well-designed storage space that helps keep your outdoor area organised.

Check Before You Buy

It’s worth doing a few quick checks before you commit to a shed supplier, even if the price looks appealing.

  1. Visit the ShedSafe® website and search the public register to confirm the manufacturer (and, ideally, the seller) is accredited.
  2. Ask for a Site-Specific Design (sometimes called a “SiteCheck” report) based on your exact location and conditions.
  3. Confirm material specifications – look for genuine BlueScope products or another reputable Australian steel brand with documented warranties.

At Fielders, we only partner with suppliers who meet strict safety and design checks. When a shed is designed right from the start, you can count on it to protect what’s inside.

Get Started with the Right Shed

Not sure what type of shed you need? Start by thinking about what you’ll store. Bikes? Tools? Garden gear?

Next, consider your outdoor space. Do you need more outdoor storage space or a place to keep things dry and safe year-round? Is it exposed to wind? Does it get lots of sun? Council regulations and setbacks may also affect where and how your shed is installed.

From compact lockers to multi-bay workshops, the Fielders' Endurance® range includes a wide range of outdoor storage sheds. All our sheds are engineered to meet ShedSafe® guidelines and built with quality Australian steel.

Whether you’re after a storage option for gardening tools or a large shed for weekend projects, we’ve got something that fits your lifestyle and block.

Build It Right the First Time

A shed isn’t something you want to replace every few years. By choosing a ShedSafe®-accredited design and reliable Australian materials, you’ll avoid costly rework, protect what matters, and make better use of your yard.
