The Vision
Residents of Newman, a remote community in WA's Pilbara region, needed comprehensive healthcare services. The goal was to build a state-of-the-art $61.4M medical facility that could compete with those in Australia's major cities. Silver Thomas Hanley Architecture, ADCO Constructions, and Ridgetech Roofing partnered with Fielders to turn this vision into a reality.
The Cladding Challenge
The building's standout feature is its textured, multicoloured façade and angular roofline. Achieving this unique look required specialized cladding. Fielders' Prominence™ and Boulevard™ profiles were selected for their adaptability and aesthetic qualities. The cladding was applied in a recurring vertical pattern, a complex task that demanded meticulous attention to detail. The result is a façade that combines functionality with visual appeal.
Precision Meets Innovation
In a unique application, Prominence™ was tapered at a 76-degree pitch in the entryway. The sheets were expertly placed, bent, and tapered on different angles, showcasing the versatility and adaptability of Fielders' products.
Overcoming Distance
The remote location presented logistical hurdles, especially when it came to transporting materials from Perth to Newman. Fielders met these challenges head-on, ensuring that every sheet arrived on time and in perfect condition.
Collaboration is Key
Fielders didn't just supply materials. We worked closely with all stakeholders to ensure the project's success. Our Customer Service Manager, Joseph Jennings, coordinated the ordering, production, and scheduling of materials, contributing to a smooth build process from start to finish.
The Impact
The Newman Health Service facility isn't just another project for us, it's a meaningful contribution to a community that needed it. The completion of this world-class medical facility shows what's possible with a strong partnership and the right materials. It’s a significant achievement for the community and a proud moment for everyone involved.
