The Project

Built in collaboration with Hansen Yuncken and CSS, Fielders were contracted to supply the ARAMAX roofing profile for the New Living-In Accommodation project at Puckapunyal Military Area in Victoria. The military base is a training facility for service personnel of the army’s Armoured, Artillery and Transport Corps.

The $30 million New Living-In Accommodation project for defence spans a floor area of approximately 11,800m2 and consists of six separate buildings with a total of 288 bedrooms and associated living areas. Fielders provided the ARAMAX roofing solution for each building.

Construction on the project commenced in September 2012 and was completed at the beginning of 2014.

The Solution

Fielders ARAMAX was selected by Hansen Yuncken as the roofing element for each of the six buildings due to the profile’s dramatic V-shaped design, producing a modern and robust finish to fit with the buildings overall purpose and function.

The Process

The 18.2m long ARAMAX® roofing sheets were rolled on site into stillages and then craned into place during suitable times in the construction of each building.

About ARAMAX®

Fielders ARAMAX structural cladding system is a unique V-shaped roofing profile that is bigger, bolder and deeper than conventional steel cladding profiles available on the market. The product is manufactured in standard 800mm cover width, with 700mm to 900mm cover widths available upon request. ARAMAX is produced on a mobile roll-former and has the unique ability to be rolled onsite anywhere in the world, reducing construction time and improving project efficiencies. Project applications include commercial buildings, residential houses,
shade structures and commercial shelters.
