Fielders was contracted to supply its Fielders Prominence™ product for the construction of the Bowden ‘B’ Apartments, the largest apartment building to be constructed in Bowden, South Australia to date.
Soon to be open to residents in 2018, the multi-million-dollar construction began in May 2017 and is an example of the higher density, urban model of living that the State Government is promoting within South Australia.
In partnership with GHDWoodhead architects, the project was completed over a 3-month period. During this time, Fielders supplied 700m2 of 220mm wide 0.7 Prominence™ which was installed with the assistance of SA Construct. Fielders Business and Development Manager (Commercial and Specifications), James Harrison, spoke of Fielders involvement with the ‘B’ Apartment project.
“Fielders Prominence™ is ideal for projects such as the ‘B’ Apartments as it is suitable for both roofing and walling installations. It is a rare mix that both architects and builders can appreciate, and which can successfully combine eye-catching street appeal with versatility, meaning there is no compromise on either style or practicality,” said Harrison.
220mm wide 0.7 Fielders Prominence™ was perfect resource for the ‘B’ Apartments due to its flat pans which provided a clean and modern finish to the exterior of the building. The product also allows for simple and manageable installation, which made it possible for SA Construct to finish the project by the intended completion date.
The of 220mm wide 0.7 Fielders Prominence™ panels were ordered in the specialty Shale Grey coil from BlueScope Steel to provide a 0.7mm BMT finish. The custom Prominence 0.7 and Shale Grey flashings were then purpose built at the Fielders Mile End branch.
